Since I started with music in the 80s, I've always listened old music WHILE TRYING THE NEW STUFF ASWELL.. ALL of it was good back then & I loved every genre including country & rap(my least favourite) Its mostly kids/teens & people in their 20s hating on new music(which I think is hilarious) I don't ever remember people venting about how bad the radio is, it was only old people or miserable Grumpy Old Men types.. Back then each artist could do it all, it wasn't about "culture wars" like now
