Yes, I understand that this is a really stupid, redneck thing to do; but hey, at least it was fun haha. So, for everyone's sake please don't leave a bunch of comments saying how retarded this was because I know...I know. More

many years ago i took mufflers off my ducati 860 gts & rode around the block....it sounded like a 350 chev..awesome sound..but no back pressure can burn out your exhaust valves..

Great bike! At least you had yoyr helmet! lol!

I sure will thank you for the advice. Maksym

Yea, I know what you mean about finding the one you want. I drove my buddies truck 12 hrs. to get mine in MN. She had about 6K miles when I got her. I picked her up for $4100 which was a great deal...bike was, and still is, mint and unmolested. She has over 17K miles now. These bikes are know to go a long time if you maintain the motor. Good luck finding one. Let me know when you do Seth
gaivoron Says:
yeah thanks, that make sense that the 1000 would handle more numb since its probably 150lb heavier than at 250r or some 600s. But i already have an endorsement for the passed like 5 month i just cant find a bike i want. i am in South FL and most of the bikes here are either really beat up or difficult to find in good condition under 3k. I found one like yours on Craigs thats why i have asked you about it and still that bike needed new forks and had 30k on it lol
c10seth Says:
That's what people told me and I thought the same thing. I have had some scares on the bike...most not my fault. The biggest difference I think you will find between a 1000 bike and 600 or less bike is the handling. Big bike feels...big. It's less responsive on pretty much everything except the "go" button. I would try, if you can, riding one of each. I know that's hard to do without actually having a bike or an endorsement, but if you have some good friends it's a great "feeler".
gaivoron Says:
thanks man, i would never underestimate any bike, especially a 1000. many people told me to get something like a 250 yet they say i would need to upgrade to a 600 in few month. I am sure if i were to take it easy for 6 month i would learn bike control on a 1000 just as i would on 250. Thanks again

Read the description...

This is my first bike. I just finished my 3rd year with her. I'd recommend this bike (or any bike) to anyone so long they respect her and understand what it is capable of. If you don't really understand what she is doing it's better to just stay in a cage. Other than that, it's been a fa nominal bike; low maintenance, low insurance, good on gas and a TORQUE monster! LOL. I hope this helps. Seth
AsianPerson3 Says:
Buy what you want but be smart is what people usaly say. I say take an MSF corse if you can then buy a bike.
gaivoron Says:
you wouldnt recomment that bike for a beginner rider would you?
RaceWithTime Says:
I'm now convinced that i must do this on my rc51 at least once
c10seth Says:
True story. It's so easy to just snap that throttle a bit a bring the front wheel up!
mrpotatoheadracing Says:
gotta give that back more thumbsup folks!

Man fuck all the logic. That shit brought out my inner caveman. L-Twins = WIN
opmike343 Says:
It's not a "myth" depending on how one tosses the word around. The engines are tuned from the factory with the assumption that there will be a certain degree of restriction from the factory exhaust system. Anyone wanting to run open exhaust or a full racing exhaust should seriously considering a re-tune. I've seen a number of SV's that needed a tune...I've yet to see one--or any bike for that matter--"detonate" from running without mufflers.
