Yes, it's discontinued. Read the text of the video for your other question.

I cant find that changer, it must be discontinued. I notice you have special clamps at the rim area; something the cheaper units substitute metal with. Where did you get the dismount/mount bar from?
Apr 7, 2012 mattmccabedotcom Says:
No, and no metal contacts the rim at any time.

Does this scratch the rim at all?

Sorry, I have no affiliation with them. You're on your own with finding them.

I don't think so. But, I haven't actually looked for one since about 2001. I've had this one since then.

Rite on. thanks for the quick reply. Does harbor freight still sell these?

I use this system on my KTM tubed tires. The harder sidewall makes it harder, but the tube isn't an issue if you just put a little air in the tube before installation to help it keep the round shape.
Dec 29, 2011 jamn83 Says:
how hard is this to do when you need to install a tube in the tire. Is the mojo bar or any thing else going to hurt the tube, or interfere?
Dec 12, 2011 mattmccabedotcom Says:
Ken, it sounds like you aren't getting your opposing bead in the valley. An extra set of strong hands helps.
Dec 12, 2011 DFWKen Says:
Looks really easy, but I'm not having nearly as much luck with my Harley rear wheel and 180 tire. The tire is so stiff, I couln't hold the opposite side in the well for removal of the first bead.
Now, I'm trying to remount the tire. First bead goes on with no tools. But the Mojo lever simply will not put the second (top) bead over the rim. In your video, you get the bead half on by hand before starting. I can't get 1/4 of this stiff tire bead on. It just ain't happening.
Dec 4, 2011 mattmccabedotcom Says:
The base of the changer has a built-in leveraged bead breaker. I throw a rag on the steel leg base and just use the built-in breaker.
Dec 4, 2011 SuperGsrider Says:
thank for the info one more question what did u use to break the bead did u use the bead breaker on the tool and if so how did u keep from scratching the rim sorry two question thank again
Nov 26, 2011 SuperGsrider Says:
thanks for the info i orderd the bar and blocks
Nov 26, 2011 mattmccabedotcom Says:
Yes, the mojo blocks are made of nylon and protect the rims completely.
Nov 26, 2011 SuperGsrider Says:
geat vido i also own a bmw gsa have one question what do u use on the paws on the hf unit to keep from scratching the rim ? or is that what the mojo blocks are for?
Aug 14, 2011 62shalaka Says:
I just checked; neither one is available anymore. That's a shame. I'm glad I've got mine, also have Mojo Blocks and Mojo Lever. I've done 10 tires so far and a buddy is about to show up so I can mount one for him.

There are still some available in the individual stores. I just bought both pieces 3 week ago. If there are multiple Harbor Freights in your general area, try calling them. I ended up having my brother who lives around 100 miles away buy it for me at his local HF & picked it up later.
Nov 27, 2010 RKendall48 Says:
It also helps a lot to let the tires sit out in the sun to warm them up before trying to install them.
Nov 18, 2010 mattmccabedotcom Says:
A little skill and experience by doing lots of tires helps even more.

I have mojolever and blocks. makes HF changer much easier to use. the tire in this video is soft as chewing gum. sports and sports touring tires have MUCH stiffer sidewalls so even with mojo lever it takes alot of effort. it helps to have a second person.
Nov 15, 2010 Rangerscott69 Says:
Yea. I had to buy the display. I tried with all my might and the guy I work with that is a LOT stronger than me to get my tires on and we just could not get the last section to go over the rim. I'm sure it being cold temp wise and the tire being an ice block doesn't help.
Your tire went on smooth as butter. Both my rear and front has a lot of over hang on the last section to get over the rim. I had to give up and take them to get mounted.
Nov 15, 2010 mattmccabedotcom Says:
You're half right. HF still sells the changer, but discontinued the motorcycle adapter kit. #34542 is the base changer.
