Both tire and tyre are correct, although tyre is used over mst ofthe world, and has been used since the 17th centuryy English speaking countries, it wasn't until the 19th century that America/Canada started using the word tire :-)

Cheers.
Quade235 Says:
He's balancing the tire. This ensures that it won't have a certain spot that will spin with more force and make the steering unstable/upset the bike while riding.

Hi, I was wondering what is the name of the wheel guard you are using and where can I buy them ?
Drobium77 Says:
But he uses his hand to weild them :-P
diabeticHOWIE Says:
"by hand" has giant tool to remove old tire.
krssnoop Says:
can you explain what you doing towards the end of the vid when you spinning the tire, thanks.
niklasxl Says:
nice video :) is it also mangeble whit a 160/70 17 tire? :P because we did change a 110/70 17 in a bit different way and it was pritty good damn hard :D
bamdogwood1 Says:
nice smooth rim lube action think you have done that a little too much ..
hueyrotorhead Says:
Great video, I like the rim protector with the cord. That's smart. I would also as someone already stated for safety reasons, don't place your fingers between the rim and tire when airing up.

I know its been awhile since this video, but do you think you could put some annotations on whats being done? eg. What product was being used and what you were doing at the end
androwbmx Says:
Cheers for this, my manual does say to take it in and get a professional to do it since you gotta make sure the tyre is properly rounded on.
MrAdrianGrigore Says:
It's TYRE in UK and TIRE in US and Canada, both spellings are correct. Get your facts straight before posting stupid comments.

not a whole lot of experience needed.. put the wheel on a tire. without turning the wheel release it.. if the wheel rotates let it spin the spot that is the heaviest will end up at the bottom . then you add weight to the lighter side (top) then do the process over. when you release it and it does not spin.. rotate the wheel 45 degrees and release it agian. i like to do this several times to make sure that it is balanced. the key is to use the absolute minimum weight but perfectly balanced.
mickeypopa Says:
You can start with a few grams then gradually add more if you see the wheel is still heavy on the opposite side. The bottom line is to achieve balanced wheel that will not spin without external force no matter how you position it, that is the only guideline.
DesmosediciAlice Says:
brilliant and also very creative , i like it
MrKazuyamishimawins Says:
On Michelin tires, never remove the inner barcode sticker. Its the point to align the tire valve so that you can accuratly balance you wheel with the less weight possible!!!
MoonshineGuitars Says:
Very good video though I am not sure I would be confident to balance a wheel. Is it just experience that helps you judge the weight needed?
sztrimzzz Says:
Great vid! I've wanted to buy a bead breaker but not enough room to store it in my garage. Love your diy solution! Think I'll give this a try on my next tire change. Thanks!
ben0jamin Says:
cool video man i guess B34tboxx is too poor and lacks the intelligence to fabricate his own tools. other than that very informative vid.
chilby00 Says:
if you think about it.. you get TIRED..worn out.. which has nothing to do with wheels. Tyre is the english - and correct - spelling. I get a tad peeved at foreigners trying to tell the English how to speak english
kakidoutube Says:
i thought by hand means: with no tools!!
TomCatAMD64 Says:
The best way to balance the tire is by hand-eye-gravity method cause gravity never lies! I always do it that way and I have a feeling like riding through the butter when brand new tire is mounted and balanced. Also, for marking the weight spot, I use some a piece of chalk. Congrats fot the video ;)
358284996 Says:
I would have thought gravity was a pretty good indicator of which way down was... near the middle of the pendulum swing would be the heavy side so add weight to the opposite side and hey presto, balanced.
