So you're saying you'd rather disrespect what the guy that wrote the music says just because all you care about is yourself.. You might as well just say that considering your post.

it doesn't get any better than this. rock n roll at it's best-awesome lyrics, great voice/harmonies and a fucking hypnotizing guitar

Grunge wise and even early 90's wise as whole, there's nothing like dirt. The riffs, the lyrics, the Staley/Cantrell singing harmonies, really nothing like it. I got that album on CD when I was 16 and just bought it on vinyl at 35. The vinyl is on my turntable at least once a week and the CD's been playing over and over again in my truck ever since my iPod broke, that was 3 weeks ago! That tells a lot!

Agreed, I may have never done heavy drugs, but i can still identify with Lanye's pain and extreme emotions. Nirvana wasn't meant to be as deep as the lyrics in AIC and Mad Season for that matter.
Apr 27, 2012 dubs5121 Says:
yes it was, as close to a musical masterpiece as you can get

ya staley was the bread and butter of the band you said it man his voice was so perfect so grungy.
Apr 27, 2012 dubs5121 Says:
i agree with everything you said brother spot on, aic songs speak to me and the lyrics have greater meaning, they tell a story like good music is supposed to and what that story is like you said is open for interpretation.

No comparison , alice in chains and nirvana , AIC was real band , nirvana had their own style which was good but AIC were very talented players and had LAYNE STAYLEY COME ON MAN !
Apr 25, 2012 perrin275 Says:
I would say that Nirvana had a fair amount of talent, just think their music was a different kind of grunge. Honestly talent or no talent, the music people listen to is so subjective anyway. AIC is definitely more complex musically and the lyrics are more direct.
Apr 25, 2012 dubs5121 Says:
hell ya man same with me once you really give their records a listen nirvana becomes noise still good but nowhere near as talented as alice
