Randy, thank you, every word is gold. On my 78 Yamaha SR500 (4 stroke), it is still blowing black smoke (too rich), I have the needle C clip at the last notch at the top (needle is all the way down), I have turned outwards the air-fuel mix screw about 1 1/2 turn, spark plug to its proper gap, 230 main jet, what am I missing, is my (Choke) Plunger sticking making it too rich? The choke or plunger components is the only part of the carb I have not taken apart yet.Thank you Roberto
