why was he trying to do a valve adjustment? did he put a different cam in or something? Anyway, do you know anything about MSD blasters?
stinkyfarts445 Says:
so this isn't a problem i should watch for on my 2010 yfzr? I haven't had any cam mods and if i do I'm having my local yami shop do it

- Yes, this is normal with the stainless steel exhaust system that is used on most high performance 4-stokes these days. A very commonly asked question as the owners manuals never mention this. On older bikes, this would be cause for concern... Thanks for viewing and commenting! - Shawn

you seem to know a lot... well my stock 09 YFZ450R header is glowing for the about 6 inches of it starting from were the head meets the header.... IS THIS NORMAL???

Thanks good to know! I got a yfz450R too.
fzrsmkr Says:
Yeah, sure about the chain. The old one was blued from extreme heat caused by the came chain tensioner being installed incorrectly and making the cam chain way too tight. Really surprised that it did not snap! Thanks for viewing and commenting! - Shawn
bastiaan08 Says:
Are you sure about the chain? Because you've got different types of chaines. You've got hardened chaines who are always blue or just chains made from harder steel. The first are cheaper to produce because at production the metal is weaker and cost less hardened tools to manufacture than working with harder steel.
scrimmy6969 Says:
then you take it to someone who can or you buy the tools and a yamaha manual and do it yourself
fzrsmkr Says:
Yeah, but it's rare that you have to. Massive clutch or engine failure is usually the only time this needs cleaning.
mxpimp45 Says:
so you have to split the case to clean this screen? wow thats a lil over kill for us that dont have the tools or knowledge to spilt the cases
